LENOVO YOGA C940 REVIEW: The Best 2-in-1 Laptop of 2020?
This is my first time ever using a 2-in-1 laptop. I have never experienced a laptop like this. Firstly, we’ll talk about its build quality and some features. The build quality is very sturdy with a premium all-metal design. The laptop has an aluminum body with a unique rotating soundbar, which is unheard of. Needless to say that the sound quality is amazing. The C940 laptop also has a sleek looking reverse-notch design which makes it easier to open the lid single-handedly. Instead of sticking out, the webcam and its sliding shutter are hidden in this notch design. You can use the sliding shutter for privacy reasons. For example, the shutter can be closed when not in use.
Since this is a 2-in-1 product, the laptop converts into a tablet with an easy folding mechanism. The touchscreen can be used in the laptop mode or in the tablet mode, by simply folding. To enhance your experience, Lenovo C940 has equipped this laptop with a pen. Use this pen to handwrite or draw on your documents. Personally, I’m not too keen on this pen just because it’s small in size. But it is a useful tool for artists and any penmanship needed. This laptop can be found in a 14″ or 15″ display with a color choice of mica or gray. You are also given the option to choose among full high definition or 4K.
Today’s product is a 14″ HD model in mica color with great battery life. Some of its specifications include 10th gen Intel i7 processors and Intel Iris Graphics. You can find 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. With amazing specs, it’s hard to disappoint with the Lenovo C940 Yoga. The Yoga C940 laptop is not intended for gamers thanks to its integrated graphics, not dedicated. However, it can be used for low-end gaming with no difficulty. All my gaming fans can expect another Lenovo review with its gaming series laptop, soon. This laptop is perfect for assignments like photoshop. The touchscreen makes pinching in/out very easy.
I was most impressed with the C940 soundbar. The music quality is the best I’ve encountered thus far. Even as you rotate the laptop, the soundbar is always facing you resulting in a clear defined audio. There are two additional speakers underneath the laptop which gives the sound extra bass. [A demo of the sound] Let me know in the comments down below what you thought about the audio of the C940 Yoga laptop. With a peak brightness of 400 nits, the 14″ FHD display is bound to offer crystal clear video quality.
The only downfall is that the glossy touchscreen makes you struggle with glares outdoors. The bezels are ultra-thin at 7mm. The 14″ laptop lacks the numeric keypad, but is available in the 15″. The backlit keyboard is comfortable to type on but is low on travel. The fingerprint reader is located in a convenient location, directly below the keyboard. The left side has 3 ports while the right has none, only the power button. You get a USB-A port and two thunderbolt-3 ports with a headphone/mic jack. The lack of ports is a con for the C940. For all the Windows users, be aware that this laptop does not have an ethernet port.
To be able to use the C940 with an ethernet, you will have to purchase a dongle or adapter. Coming to battery life, the average battery life is 10-12 hours. Life is reduced by 2-3 hours with ultra HD. Lenovo C940 Yoga is priced at $1399 without tax. Depending on tax, expect a total of around $1500. This laptop is great for office or leisure use. Not too great for content creation or gaming. In my opinion, the price is worth this sleek-looking laptop. The rotating soundbar and the tablet mode are its most unique features.
